The prayer of a woman is permissible in the mosque, without question. However it is best for her to pray in her home, as it says in the hadith, because it is more modest for her.
Having said that, if she fears fitna will occur by her going out to the mosque, it is haram for her to do that, as the imams have said.
Now, it differs from one country to the next and from one woman to the next. So considering the point that the questioner mentioned about her being far from good company when she is outside of the masjid and that going to the masjid makes her strengthen her faith, then perhaps her prayer in the masjid is better, as long as she feels safe from fitna, for it has come in the sahih hadith, “Do not ban the female-servants of Allah from Allah’s masjids.”
