Bank loans when there is 'dire need'

Question:

If a person is in dire need of money and he is unable to get a non-interest bearing loan having exhausted all avenues, can he take an interest bearing loan from the bank?

Answer:

They should consult a reliable scholar about the specifics of their case: often, one’s judgment is clouded by one’s interests and circumstances and leads one to ignore or overlook genuine alternatives.
